Hello! I teach at a school with a very vulnerable student body: about 80% Latinx families and about 30% attendance right now. Many of our kids’ fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, and sisters, have been detained. Many of our families are not leaving their home. With February 1st around the corner, we want to secure funds for rent, groceries, legal fees, and cost of living. We are running a food pantry out of our theater space and delivering groceries after class. Our work does not end when this is “over.” It will take a long time for people to recover from the financial, emotional, and psychic damage this has done. Your gift helps a lot.
